Sammanfattning
Det övergripande syftet med artikeln är att undersöka hur förskolan kan utveckla arbetet med att ta emot nyanlända familjer. Studien har en design inspirerad av aktionsforskning, och bygger på ett samarbete mellan universitet och förskolor. Forskningscirkeln har använts som metod. Mellan cirkelträffarna har olika strategier och metoder prövats och dokumenterats i syfte att utveckla arbetet. Under samtalen i cirkelträffarna har dessa diskuterats och utvärderats gemensamt. Samtalen har spelats in och transkriberats och utgör studiens empiri tillsammans med de dokumenterade forskningsaktionerna. I resultatet framträder fyra återkommande teman som betydelsefulla för att utveckla arbetet; introduktionen, organisation för trygghet och delaktighet, möjligheten att bearbeta skakande berättelser och användandet av kulturella broar.

Introducing Refugee Families in Early Childhood Education - Developing Best Practices
Abstract
The overarching aim of the article is to investigate how early childhood education can develop professional practice for receiving and introducing refugee families recently arrived to Sweden. The study has a design inspired by action research, and is based on collaboration between universities and pre-schools. The research circle was used as a method. Between the meetings of the research circle, different strategies and methods were tested and documented in order to develop the professional practice. During the meetings, these methods were discussed and evaluated collectively. The conversations were recorded and transcribed and constitute the empirical data of the study alongside with the documented research actions. The result points to four recurring themes of importance for developing professional practice: the introduction, organisation for security and participation, the ability to process difficult information, and the use of cultural bridges.
